General

Q: Who is a good candidate for a hair transplant?
A: Almost any man suffering from typical baldness may be a candidate for hair transplant. However, to obtain the expected results, the candidate must have a suitable donor area. The quality of the donor area will be determined by our hair transplant specialist or our physician.

Q: Is hair transplantation effective? Has the technique been proven?
A: Yes. The technique has existed for over 35 years. It has improved enormously in recent years and we can now get a much more natural look than before.

Q: Where is the procedure performed?
A: The hair transplant is performed in a very comfortable operating room on the premises of our private centre. Our state-of-the-art facilities are equipped with monitoring devices, sterile instruments and emergency equipment. Furthermore, to make the procedure more pleasant, we have a television and an audio channel in each room. You can watch whatever film you like or listen to the music of your choice while your hair transplant is performed.

Q: How soon after the transplantation can I go back to work?
A: In general, the patient can return to work the day after the operation. However, we recommend that you take another day off to rest, and that you avoid vigorous exercise for one week after surgery.

Q: Is it painful?
A: Hair transplantation is a minor surgery on the surface of the skin. After giving the patient a tranquilizer and oral pain medication, we use a local anesthetic on the surface being treated. The feeling is comparable to what you experience during dental treatment. Most patients fall asleep during the operation.

Q: How do I prepare for the operation?
A: Actually, very little preparation is needed. We recommend that you shampoo the night before the operation. You must not drink alcohol, take vitamins or take aspirin for ten days before the transplant.
